Rambha Biography
Rambha is an eminent Indian actress who has appeared in several successful films in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, Bengali and Bhojpuri films. Rambha started her career in the year 1990 with the Kannada film ‘Server Somanna’ and then plunged into Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films. Her first Hindi film was T L V Prasad’s 1995 release ‘Jallad’ alongside Mithun Chakraborty, Madhoo and Kader Khan.

Rambha was born as Vijayalakshmi on 5th June, 1972 to Usha Rani and Venkateswara Rao in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. Rambha has worked with many superstars in Bollywood as well as South Indian film industry. She has played the female lead opposite Chiranjeevi, Rajnikanth, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Sunil Shetty, Kamal Hassan and Govinda, among others.
Her first Malayalam film ‘Sargam’ was released in the year 1992. Directed by T. Hariharan, ‘Sargam’ starred Rambha alongside Vineeth and Nedumudi Venu. Rambha next appeared in Telugu film ‘Aa Okkati Adakku’ and Kadhir’s Tamil film ‘Uzhavan’ alongside Prabhu Ganesan and Bhanupriya. Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, ‘Quick Gun Murugun’ starred Rajendra Prasad, Rambha, Sandhya Mridul, Nassar, Raju Sundaram, Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak. ‘Quick Gun Murugun’ was screened at the London Film Festival, the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, the New York Asian Film Festival and in The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Rambha is currently filming the Tamil film ‘Vidiyum Varai Kaathiru’ and Malayalam film ‘Filmstar’.
Rambha also produced a Tamil film ‘Three Roses’ starring herself, Jyothika and Laila. The film was inspired from the Hollywood action flick ‘Charlie’s Angels’. The film flopped terribly at the box office and Rambha had to sell her Chennai house to recover from the debts.
