Meenakshi or Sharmeelee is a popular South Indian actress. She made her debut in Kollywood but she became popular through Malayalam films.
Acting career
Sharmeelee got introduced to Tamil audience through a show in Jaya TV called 'Kasumela'. People were instantly attracted by her cheeful and youthful approach to anchoring. From there she graduated to Tamil mainstream Cinema. Her first movie was 'Asai Asaiyai' with Jeeva. This movie was not very well received in the box office even though the story and Sharmeelee's acting got good reviews from critics. Her second movie in Tamil (Anbe Anbe) with Shyam was classified as a medium hit in the box office. Her third movie in Tamil was with Sarathkumar. This movie won her rave reviews for her performance.
After that she moved to Malayalam movies. Her first movie 'Vellinatchatram' was a mega hit and her performance was appreciated by many. After that she established herself in Malayalam movies with a string of hit movies.
